Thank you for supporting Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Conservancy in efforts to increase public awareness of the value of preserving heritage breeds. You are a Longhorn Hero!
The original Texas Longhorn evolved by Natural Selection from Iberian stock in the wilds of this country, unencumbered by man for 300 years. First arriving in North America in 1521, this is the 500th Anniversary of Cattle Coming to the Americas! That calls for a good old-fashioned Texas celebration!
We will treat you to a Chef-prepared meal of original Texas Longhorn beef, and entertain you with live Texas Longhorn cattle and a Longhorn-theme silent auction. Your Farm-To-Table experience will culminate with the screening of the 90-minute documentary "The Holstein Dilemma." This film addresses the loss of diversity in heritage breeds of livestock, discusses cause and potential solutions including creating consumer demand for their products in the marketplace.

The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. and concludes at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021. We recommend wearing closed-toed footwear with a flat or low, wide heal. With all this glorious rain we've received, the pastures are likely to be quite soft. We are reserving tents should rain be in the forecast, but we are hopeful you will be able to dine under the stars on a beautiful, clear summer evening.
Texas Longhorn beef was named to the Slow Food USA Ark of Taste in 2016. The Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Conservancy works closely with the Livestock Conservancy and the Cattlemen's Texas Longhorn Registry on conservation and public outreach projects.
